Spinning The Gold
But if you travel far enough, one day you will recognize yourself coming down the road to meet yourself.
And you will say - YES.
Marion Woodman
Our personal story touches everything: how we connect with others, show up in our relationships and work, how we recover and grow. And yet, many of us never have the time or the tools to properly look at our own.
Spinning the Gold is a half-day storyfinding workshop designed to help women uncover and reclaim their true story, tap into their wisdom and take control of their own narrative.
This is not a writing workshop!
Think of it more as a mapping exercise. A guided space to look back on your journey, and reflect - with loving kindness and compassion - on what has brought you to this point and where you want to go next.
Throughout the workshop we will use Irish goddess mythology and folklore as our navigation tools, ancient stories that have held women's experience for thousands of years. These are our portals to self discovery. We will explore our story with simple prompts and - through small group sharing, writing and drawing (you choose whatever feels good) begin to bridge the gap between our past, our present and our future.
Together we will question:
Where have we stumbled and what has it taught us?
Who were our guides and how did they help?
What story or belief no longer serves us?
What do we want to embrace for our next chapter?
Why a story workshop ?
Because life does not happen in a straight line. It's messy, non-linear, full of chapters we didn't choose and experiences we are still making sense of.
We are all made of stories. Mapping them gives us a way to make sense of the journey - to understand where we've been, what we're made of, and what we're capable of.
And, because we're always changing, our story is never finished! We get to decide which parts we carry forward and which we're ready to set down.
Finally, but most importantly, when women come together to share their stories, magic happens. We build connection, share wisdom and heal.
This workshop is for you if you:
Curious about Irish mythology and storytelling;
Like working alongside other women, in circle;
Are a woman interested in recovery and healing;
Find yourself at a point of change and want space to think it through;
Wish to write a new story for your future.
No writing or storytelling experience necessary. Come as you are. This workshop is designed and will be held with trauma-informed care.
